A Band to Keep an Eye On

Avid R&B admirers know the place to go for top-notch entertainment. Brantford's foremost venue for quality roots, blues and rock music is at Poor Folks' Deli.

Trickbag is a name that may be familiar to Deli patrons because the group has already played there. They pump out a New Orleans inspired style of rhytm and blues music.

The Hamilton-based quintet offers a hard-edged but sophisticated approach totheir music, giving the audience an adventure through a fantastic amalgamation of New Orleans, Delta, Gospel and R&B sounds. Trickbag includes Shawn O'Halloran, singer and bassist; Paul Panchezak, drummer; Larry Feudo, guitar, harmonica and mandolin; and Donna Panchezak, vocalist.  This versatile group of excellent musicians can boast and ability to appeal to an audience with a gratifying collection of tunes at their disposal. Dedication prevails. The band has put out a first-class collaboration of music on their debut CD - Trickbag - a flawless effort and a quality product.

Reach Out, Hard to be Cruel, Black Rain, Mooselegs' Boogie and Ain't Nobody are a few of the songs that feature Donna Panchezak's explosive and liberating vocals. Trickbag's artistic, lyrical and technical skills are evident and impressive.

They should look forward to a long and prosperous career in the industry.
